Zoho Writer: FREE Program For PDF Files

A few pattern makers on a Prim Forum I belong to asked how they could turn their paper patterns into PDF files for Epatterns. I mentioned that I do mine on a FREE program called Zoho Writer. They checked out the link but were a little overwhelmed by the program. While I don't pretend to know everything about it, I have used it a number of times for my own e-patterns and wrote up some instructions on how I use it. If you are interested in reading them you are welcome to download the pdf : Creating E-Pattern PDF Files On Zoho

Another Blog : Prim Patterns 'n Handmades

Since I'm using this blog mainly to keep my readers/customers updated on new item listings and on 'specials', I decided to open another crafting blog, where I also 'sell' my craft items that may have at one time been listed in KKL Primitives but was moved for one reason or another. Be sure to check it out in case you missed out on an item that was removed....it might be listed on Prim Patterns 'n Handmades .

Check the side bar for titles that have FOR SALE posted.

It has been very hot this summer - for me anyway. I do not like 'heat' and it just drains all my energy. The past couple days however have been a little cooler and more like September weather and it's been motivating me to start making some more craft items.
This is a wool felt pear pincushion/pinkeep I finished up this morning for a swap I'm involved in. I love how it turned out. I plan on making more to add to my shoppe and Etsy.
I'm also in the mood now to start making Halloween/Autumn items. I'm really behind, as I know alot of other crafters started on theirs quite a while back. They are probably doing their Christmas items now!!! Yikes!
I'm also involved in a prim ornie swap that's going on right now at Prim Mart. This will be my first time signing up for it. I've been in the forum for a few years now but was always overwhelmed by having to make 40 ornies. This year only 26 ladies signed up, so I'm breathing a sigh of relief, although I sure would have liked to have 40 new ornies to add to my Christmas tree this year. I have a couple ornie patterns in mind, just have to decide on one to start on.

Hopefully I will have a few new items to list in the next few weeks.
Stay tuned.

Snowman PinKeep Listed July 21

You can purchase him at KKL Primitives for $10 - price includes shipping ( U.S. Only) All other countries, please email for shipping quote.

My "Arte Y Pico" Award From Linda Walsh

I was awarded this 'Arte Y Pico' by Linda Walsh of Linda Walsh Originals blog and
This is what Linda had to say:
NeeNee has a terrific sense of humor, wonderful spirit, enormous creative talent, and generosity beyond compare. NeeNee always has time to help whoever asks or whoever she encounters who needs help. She is an amazing woman and I remain her #1 fan!

I am very touched and honored that Linda would think of me to be one of the 5 bloggers she felt was deserving of this award. Linda, thank you so very much. And since your dear mother and husband are your # 1 fans, I'll be happy to take the #2 place fan spot, but still consider YOU 'The Blogging Queen' #1.

The "Arte y Pico" award was created and to be given to bloggers who inspire others with their creative energy and their talents, whether it be writing, artwork in all media's. When you receive this award it is considered a "special honor". Once you have received this award, you are to pass it on to at least 5 others.

Please read more info on this wonderful award , visit: http://www.arteypico.blogspot.com/.

I have to choose 5 bloggers that I consider deserving of this award for their creativity, design, posts, and contribution to the blogging community. The rules are as follows:

1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award, creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogger community, no matter the language.

2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

4) Award-winning and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte Y Pico"blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.
5) To show these rules.

It was very hard to pick and choose only 5 bloggers deserving of this award, but it's all I'm allowed. These are my chosen few:
1) Tina Grimes - The Junction Journal
Tina is a very warm and giving person. She's a talented crafter, writer, and she freely provides information for small business owners with tips, information and many resources to help them with running their websites.

I'm an admirer of Jany's gorgeous art work, mainly her water colors ( this painting is one of my favorites. Just looking at this painting brings a smile to my face. It's serene, comforting, beautiful and Jany's attention to detail is brilliant. Jany is also a crafter and a sculptress who brings her primitive folkart creations to life with her talent.

I really enjoy browsing Ronalyn's blog. She features unique handcrafted items and the artists who created them. From sock monkeys, beautiful watercolor paintings,
handcrafted wood furniture, handmade handbags, polymer clay sculptures, jewelry designers, handcarved wooden boxes to gorgeous little crochet baby booties. Ronalyn writes very interesting articles on the artists and showcases their work beautifully.

Karen offers for 'free' hundreds of wonderful Vintage clip art images that may be used for any project, whether personal or for resale. Her only TOU is that if you use these images on a blog or website, that you credit her and link to her site. Now that isn't too much to ask at all, is it?
Karen has an awesome 'gallery' of clip art: Vintage labels, angels and fairies, advertising, calling cards, animals - both farm and domestic, old photos, Vintage wallpaper and much more.
I know that alot of crafters are always looking for this type of art for their projects for commercial use. Thanks for sharing Karen!
5) C.J. McMillan - Carol's personal blog dedicated to her daughter Shannon, who has Down Syndrome.
I enjoy reading about life with Shannon. One particular post that had me smiling was when Shannon's dad cut her bangs and forgot to put the scissors out of reach. Like any other child, Shannon got the scissors and proceeded to give herself a 'little' trim on the top as well, and according to Carol, there wasn't much hair left!
Shannon may be a 'special needs child' but she is happy, well adjusted, won 'student of the month' at school and had her photo in the newspaper.
She's special because she has the capacity to love everyone and everyone loves her.
It comes across in Carol's writing, how much her child means to her.
There are hundreds of bloggers out there who are also deserving of the Arte Y Pico Award, so keep on blogging, you never know when you will be chosen next!

An Award

I was recently presented with the Arte Y Pico award for my creativity, design, blogs posts, and contributions to the blogging community by Linda Walsh of Linda Walsh Originals Blog. I in turn, must present 5 bloggers whom I feel are also deserving with this award and post them here. I'm really 'late' in getting this done as I need to go through my favorite blogs and choose only five bloggers. This is tougher than it seems. lol

Linda, I have not forgotten my 'duty'. I'm working on it Photobucket

New Item Listed May 15th - Prim Chenille Sheep & Crow

Please click on photo to view larger image

Just listed this 'new' version of Caswell The Prim Sheep with his best bud The Crow at KKL Primitives.
This time, Caswell has a pocket made from a stained quilt piece. I've stuffed an olde thread spool, some Sweet Annie and some red pip berry sprays into the pocket.
The Crow is perched on Caswell's back, he goes everywhere Caswell goes. The Crow has been painted, stained, sanded, & rubbed with cinnamon. His eyes are French knots and he's wearing a rusty collar with 2 rusty bells attached. The ends of the wire are 'curled'.

New Listing - Caswell Prim Sheep Pillow

Please click on photo to view larger image

I still have a lot of chenille bedspread left after making the first Caswell Americana Sheep. I didn't realize how popular he was and only made one of him, but I've received a couple emails asking if I planned to make any more, so the answer is a big YES! I've already cut out the chenille and will start to stitch him up tonight.
Right now though I just finished this 'pillow' of Caswell. It measures 15 inches wide by 10 1/2 inches high. If you don't want to use it as a pillow on your bed or sofa, you can prop him up on a shelf!
I left the chenille the original color instead of staining it. I did however tea stain the star and handstitched the word WOOL on it. I've also used Mod Podge to glue on the sparkly 'snow flurries'. I was going to glue on either mica flakes or German glass glitter but opted instead for the flurries.
Caswell Prim Sheep pillow is listed at KKL Primitives.

~New Listings~ To Allegheny Primitives- Prim Crow Nodder & Prim Blessings Shelfsitter

Click on photos to view larger images

My intentions were to add these two new items to KKL Primitives, but I'm having trouble adding new products there, so decided to add them to my other website, Allegheny Primitives.
All of my crafts are 100% handmade by me in my smoke free home.

'Prim Blessings' Prim Angel Shelfsitter

click on photo for larger image

This is an adorable angel shelfsitter that I've made from a 'You Are Special Patterns'.

The angel has been weighted so she will stand on her own.

She's been tea stained and baked. Her nose is sculpted and her eyes are French knots. Her eyebrows and mouth are hand stitched.

Her dress is navy blue and tan checked homespun with bows of green and white checked homespun at her neckline and around her wrists.

Her wings have been hand stitched with the saying ' Primitive Blessings'.

She is holding a spray of dried flowers and some pipberries which are tied with a strip of homespun.

This angel measures 14 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches tall.

If you are an angel collector or just love primitives, you'll love this 'lil shelfsitter!

I've tried adding her to KKL Primitives tonight but the site is having problems so will post here when she's been added.

She is $18.95 + shipping

If You Are A Reader Of My Krazy Kraft Lady Blog - Please Read

You may have noticed that The Krazy Kraft Lady blog is taking forever to load. You will only see at first a blank page and the 'warning' Done but with errors on page at the bottom of your screen. It took approximately 5 minutes to load for me. This is not good. If your blog is slow loading, you can lose readers.

I'm trying to get help at Blogger for this issue. I was directed to this site for suggestions http://betabloggerfordummies.blogspot.com/2007/05/tips-to-speedup-blog-loading-time.html but I'm afraid most of the suggestions are 'alien' to me. I have no clue what CSS is, or putting Javascript into an external file, or using AJAX shorthand for "Asynchronous JavaScript and XML". I'm very frustrated.

Please bear with me while I try to get this issue straightened out.

New Listing - Prim FriendSheep Pillow - April 28

Click on photo to view larger image

I've just added this adorable prim 'FriendSheep' pillow to KKL Primitives . It measures 11 inches wide by 7 1/2 inches high.

There's a warm saying handstitched on the sheep's body that reads:

A friend is someone who reaches for your hand but touches your heart

Wouldn't this make a nice gift for that special friend?

~New Listing~ Pocketful O' Posies Annie - April 26

I just LOVE this 23 inch prim Annie. She was adapted from a Robin Leuschen Bird In The Hand Primitives pattern.

She is available now at KKL Primitives.

*NEW* Listing on KKL Primitives - Caswell, Americana Sheep

I've just listed this awesome Americana Sheep in KKL Primitives. He is adapted from a pattern by Crooked Creek Mercantile.

Caswell measures 15 inches wide by 12 inches high. I cut up an old chenille blanket that I recently purchased at an antique store and tea dyed it. The nose and ears are painted with black acrylic. The pocket is off white wool felt, that I've handstitched on to Caswell. An Americana colored homespun star is sewn onto the pocket and a rusty bell is sewn in the center. The pocket is filled with Sweet Annie, an American flag and an old spool.

I just loved making this sheep and plan to make a few more. Will definitely be keeping one for myself!

Just Listed - Watermelon & Crow

This cute 'lil crow perched upon his juicy watermelon slice has just been listed on my Allegheny Primitives site, just in time for Spring and Summer.

Announcing New Shoppe

I've had the opportunity to open another website and I've named it Allegheny Primitives. I live in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania, in Allegheny County and thought that was an appropriate name. I'm still keeping KKL Primitives, AP is just another site for me to add my crafts to. Hope my 'fans' will bookmark that site as well. There are only a few items listed right now, but I plan to start crafting again this week and will be adding new items to both sites.

I was away on vacation last week, 'road tripping' to St. Charles, IL. I bought lots of goodies - for myself and to craft with. To view the slideshow, click on my Krazy Kraft Lady Blog.

I will post here when they've been added. *Ü*
